Don't Blink

So I've been trying to slow down, I've been tryin' to take it in, in this here today gone tomorrow we're livin in..

Saturday we arrived at the StageCoach show at 11am. Gates opened at noon. There was a bunch of singers: Darius Rucker (previously Hootie from Hootie and the Blowfish), Little Big Town, Reba McIntire, and the wonderful Brad Paisley. However, the Mane Stage didn't have any performers start until 3:30pm! So, we found our spot on the lawn, parked our Spider-Man chairs and table, and hung out. I was determined to find 2 things: a Straw Hat and a Deck of Cards (we forgot to bring some - didn't know we'd be waiting around til late at night). I was only able to find one of those, the Straw Hat - what a relief! That hat was WONDERFUL protection from the blazing sun on a cloudless day. Robert liked my hat enought that he decided to get one of his own.

On Sunday which we didn't have a pass for was Kenny Chesney. He's also one of my favorite country singers. The song quoted, "Don't Blink" really is a beautiful song that just quoting it doesn't do it justice. If I were you I'd listen to it.

Even so, it has a good meaning. Things really do go too fast. As I think back on StageCoach, it was a long day (cause of that blazing sun) but just a fraction of a blink in our life. I had a wonderful time that day. I always try to make the best of any situation anyway and it definitely isn't easy when it's about 100 degrees and there's a guy chugging on a cigar next to you.

However, the cigar guy finally left and we were able to enjoy the show more. As night starting falling and we were anxiously waiting for Brad to come out (at 9:30pm) we played Sim's Pool on my iPod in between artists. Finally, out Brad came, opening the show with "Mud on the Tires." He also sang: (in no partifular order)

I'm sorry to say, I had to blink many a time during this day, but each one was special, well...so to speak. When Brad sang Mr. Policeman his introduction mentioned (not verbatim) that he likes to drive fast, and has a fast car, but the California Highway Patrol just won't let him. Well I happen to know that he has a Dodge Challenger! He got one through our dealership. Too bad I didn't get to meet him!

This surprise birthday present from Robert was so amazingly special that I would love to keep it a tradition. If we get to go again I hope you all decide to join us.

Time Well Wasted

"Those leaves were a foot deep in the yard. And wash me was written all over the car. Watching movies on a day with you wasn't on my list of things to do, but we laid on that couch, girl we never left the house. It was time well wasted, and there's no way I'd trade a few more things that I coulda crossed off my list, for a day that'll never forget. No I didn't get a thing done but I sure soaked up every minute of the memory we were makin, and I count all as Time Well Wasted.

Even though Brad Paisley didn't sing this one at the StageCoach show, but it is one of my all time favorites. Everytime I hear it I remind myself that things don't matter as long as I'm having the time of my life spending it with my loved ones. This is the first song in my next few blog posts. As some of you know, my grandparents both recently went back in the hopsital. Well Grandpa is back at home and Grandma had surgery on the artery in her neck. It was a rough night since there was a large chance she wouldn't make it through. But she did. We all know she's a fighter! :) Anyway, upon reflection I always thing of these four songs.
